CCH Regional Sleep Disorders Center

The Sleep Site

OUR CENTER IS A WELL-DESIGNED DIAGNOSTIC FACILITY IN AN APPROPRIATE SETTING

A sleep center should be quiet and inviting--conducive to good sleep. Simultaneously, it must function as a diagnostic facility capable of protecting the health of patients who may demonstrate extremely serious--even life-threatening--problems in the middle of the night.

Hence, our Center provides four large recording bedrooms (each with private lavatory and a deluxe, comfortable mattress and adjustable bed), linked to a central control room by polysomnographic monitoring, intercom and low-illumination infrared video. Each patient's technologist is fully aware of what is occurring and immediately able to intervene or provide assistance when indicated. The facility also includes bath and shower facilities.

OUR CENTER PROVIDES FULL-TIME, EXPERIENCED MEDICAL DIRECTION

The Center's Medical Director, Robert W. Clark MD, has over 32 years of sleep medicine experience. Dually board certified in neurology and sleep medicine, he holds American Board of Sleep Medicine certificate #004 and was the first physician in this region to be certified in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related illnesses. He has served in various professional organizations, including committee memberships in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a directorship in the American Narcolepsy Association, and has given invited talks at various locations in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America. His primary interest and focus has been the delivery of quality patient care and sustained good results.

He was named one of America's Top Physicians in 2006, and his practice has been cited for quality and excellence by both Aetna and United HealthCare.

Dr. Clark initiated development and implementation of the first comprehensive sleep medicine outcomes database in the country. This powerful tool verified that his patient care system consistently yields long-term patient outcomes and compliance with treatment at rates superior to any others reported to date. It demonstrated that the following results were achieved by his practice:
